Exhibitor interview: Listgrove

Next up in our exhibitor interview series, we spoke to  Conrad Taylor, Global Operations Director - Executive at Listgrove.

Listgrove is an International recruitment and HR specialist working across the plastics, packaging, chemicals, petrochemicals, energy and recycling sectors since 1975.

What do you think sets your company apart from your competitors?

We are a long-standing specialist and our global network, experience and knowledge has been cultivated over many years.  Combined with this intimate market expertise, we have highly skilled dedicated consultants with a reputation for solving those ‘hard to fill’ and niche roles.

Are there any new technology developments that your company is working on at the moment?

We have just launched our new website, which is already acting as a leading portal for talent and presents our clients as ‘employers of choice’.  We embrace technology in the way that we launch recruitment campaigns.  This includes cutting-edge video recruitment promotional tools to supplement more traditional advertising methods.

What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today and how can this be overcome?

The world is facing a massive skills shortage.  There are record numbers of jobs across all sectors that remain unfilled and companies are struggling to meet their resourcing needs.  As a long-standing, well-renowned reputable recruitment specialist, we have a global reach and network that is unrivalled.  We work closely with all types of organisations, often in conjunction with internal talent acquisition teams, to help companies fill these gaps.  Through our expertise, we are able to bridge this shortfall by identifying the ‘hidden’ talent that is not easily found through more standard recruitment methods.

How do you see the sector developing in the next five to ten years?

Identifying, attracting and retaining top talent will remain a key business critical issue over the next 5 to 10 years.  Organisations that are agile and flexible to the employment market will be in the best position to exert their competitiveness.  Through an integrated approach to employee retention, talent acquisition and ‘growing your own’ companies can find ways to manage this challenge.  It needs to be driven from the top with real clarity to understand the type of culture that is most attractive to existing and new employees. Companies that can demonstrate a socially aware and sustainable business model will find themselves in a better position to attract the best talent.

What are you most looking forward to at this year’s show?

Listgrove has been a mainstay of exhibitions for several decades.  We enjoy connecting up with existing clients and the prospect of developing new relationships.  As a partnership- driven organisation, we take great satisfaction from seeing our clients flourish in their market sectors.  Our relationships have endured over many years, and we are proud to be part of an amazing and innovative industry.
